The Sandman

Soundtrack for this post:

I don't have time unfortunately to create the requisite 70's style film clip in my trademark amateur style, so the music will have to stand alone this time. The track was born of a patently obvious desire to create some old-school feel-good guitar rock after watching Dazed and Confused - lyrics are largely thanks to Esmerelda, who also contributed backing vocals along with Tiny Dancer.

The big news at the moment is that the new album is now just about written - we've got over an hour of potential material. We'll use our upcoming gigs (TBA) to road test and tighten the new stuff and then head into the studio later this year. Also we're putting the Launch footage together so all those who couldn't make it can get a taste of the experience. Many who were there may need a little reminder also. Lastly, we'll be looking at putting a proper film clip together so the voting is open - which track would you like to see as the single off the Double Debut? Don't be shy, cast your vote now either here, by email or direct contact with the Longshots member in your seat.

And that's about it for now. Gig dates to be announced soon. Super14 tipping update in the next post. Scotch goggles:

Daylight Tales

It's been a long time I know - a lot of water under the bridge and all that - but we have not been idle here at Longshots HQ. There's a lot of new material and general news updates as well as the critical issue of the Super14 tipping comp which I'm sure the Longshots fanbase is tonguing for an update on.

For now though, due to time constraints, I just wanted to break the blog drought with this offering....

Enjoy
